Feed My Starving Children Hope-Filled Holidays MobilePack provides 1.4 million meals to starving children

Thousands of Chicago-area volunteers packed nourishing meals for starving children last weekend.

The Feed My Starving Children Hope-Filled Holidays event brought hope and nourishment to starving children, as thousands of enthusiastic Chicago-area volunteers packed more than 1.4 million meals Dec. 9-11 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center.

Groups of volunteers from schools, sports teams, churches, civic organizations, businesses and families packed nutritious meals of soy, veggies, vitamins and rice. The bags, packed into boxes, are shipped to mission partners in 70 countries around the world. The partners use the meals to operate schools, orphanages, hospitals, ministries and feeding programs.

A Christian non-profit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries, where they’re used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. Last year, FMSC welcomed more than 1 million volunteers to pack nearly 273 million meals. The Minnesota-based charity spends more than 90% of total donations directly on feeding the hungry and has earned the highest four-star rating from Charity Navigator for 11 consecutive years.
