As a parent, what types of things should you look for when choosing a dormitory or off-campus housing for your son or daughter? Building security, how close the housing is located to the school, room sizes and amenities are just a few of the things that parents will look for. Fire safety is usually the last thing on a parent’s mind when looking at housing, so learn what to look for and what steps you can take to keep your child fire safe while they are away at college. This class would be good for you and your college-bound student. Students will gain valuable information for their safety while out on their own for the first time. This class will be taught by personnel from the Libertyville Fire Department. Tuition is per person. Tuition: $5. Class meets on Wednesday from 7:00–8:00 PM on May 4 at Libertyville High School. Registration is required. Register online through District 128’s Community Education Department at www.ComEd128.org, or call 847-247-4576 to register by phone.
