First Female Elected Treasurer For Lake Co. Receives Award

Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim received the Drum Major Award at the Waukegan Township's 17th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Dreamers Breakfast on Jan. 18. Kim was selected by Waukegan Township Supervisor Patricia Jones and the board of trustees as the winner for this year's award.

The ‘Drum Major Award’ is awarded to local community leaders and pastors for their integrity and contribution to the greater good, according to a news release. Kim was selected for her dedication and commitment for bettering Lake County communities.

"As we celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr we also salute Holly Kim for being a Trailblazer as the 1st woman elected as Treasurer," Jones said. "We look forward to working together to make a profound impact on our community."
