Former Mundelein Trustee Charged With DUI Days After Resigning

Jennifer Grieco also pleaded guilty to a DUI stemming from a 2025 Libertyville crash and was sentenced to probation

A former Mundelein village trustee was charged with driving under the influence days after resigning from the village board, authorities said.

Police say Jennifer Grieco, 48, was arrested Friday near Lake Bluff after a 911 caller reported a possibly impaired driver drinking from a bottle in a gas station parking lot, according to the Daily Herald. A deputy later stopped Grieco's white Alfa Romeo and said she smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests.

Prosecutors say Grieco also was arrested in September 2025and charged with DUI after a two-vehicle crash in Libertyville, the Daily Herald is reporting. She later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 months of probation, among other penalties.

Grieco resigned as trustee Aug. 18 in an email to Mayor Robin Meier and the other trustees, saying she was stepping down because she was moving out of town, according to the Daily Herald.
