Fun Things To Do This Weekend

Laugh: Looking for a way to unwind after the New Year's celebration? You're in luck. The Improv Playhouse comedy troupe will be hosting a family friendly sketch and game-based show, thanks to a number of the Chicago area's most talented artists.

Restore: Get your work gloves and join other volunteers who want to give back to the environment. The event, called Restoration Workdays, is a chance to help save some of Lake County's natural areas, while also making new friends who share a similar concern for our forest preserves and natural habitat in Libertyville. Explore: Take a stroll down memory lane at the Lake County Discovery Museum. This is the last weekend photojournalist Gary Deiter's picture collection of of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 1969 Montreal Bed-in for Peace will be on display.

Laugh Some More: Once the family sketch and show is over earlier in the evening, bring the grown-ups to the Improv Playhouse for some even bigger laughs at Stand-Up Saturdays. The Playhouse will feature stand-up comedy acts following its sketch and improv events.
