Funeral Services Set for Libertyville Native Found Dead in Sorority House
The cause of Kelly Ann Hackendahl's death is still under investigation.

A Libertyville native who was found dead last week in her Indiana University sorority house is being remembered for her kindness, positive attitude and love of children.
A funeral service for the Libertyville High School graduate, Kelly Ann Hackendahl, 20, has been set for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple St in Libertyville, according to her obituary. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, Ltd., 101 Park Place in Libertyville.

Hackendahl was found unconscious and unresponsive shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday at the Zeta Tau Alpho sorority house in Bloomington, Ind., according to the Chicago Tribune.
Hackendahl, an education major, was entering her junior year at Indiana University, according to the Indianapolis Star. Hackendahl’s cause of death is still being investigated but foul play is not suspected, the Indianapolis Start reports.

While at Libertyville High School, Hackendahl was a member on the Poms team and “a friend to everyone,” according to her obituary.
“Her 20 years were full of laughter, kindness, and a positivity that radiated every time you talked to her,” according to her obituary.
Indiana University posted the following message on its Twitter feed Friday morning:
“The entire campus is deeply saddened by the death of student Kelly Hackendahl. Our condolences go out to family and friends for this loss.”
The Zeta Tau Alpha chapter at Indiana University posted the following message on its Twitter page Friday:
“Kelly, you brought so much love and light to our chapter and our lives. We will miss you every day. Thanks to all for the love and support.”
