Home Burglarized After Owner Lured Out Of Home: Police

LIBERTYVILLE, IL —The Libertyville Police Department is investigating a home burglary that occurred in the 500 block of Ash Street earlier this week.

Police say a person who claimed to be checking the power lines in the area lured the homeowner out of the house in the 500 block of Ash Street between 6 and 7 p.m. on Monday. A short time later, homeowner returned to find items missing from a bedroom.

The alleged burglar, who was described a younger, short man with dark, wavy hair, left the area in a pick-up truck that was either grey or a metallic color.

The incident is under investigation by the Libertyville Police Department Investigations Division.
