Illinois 176 in Green Oaks to Close for Railroad Repair

Illinois Route 176 (Rockland Road) will be closed at the Metra Milwaukee District-North tracks in Green Oaks for about 10 days starting on July 15 for repairs to the railroad crossing.

Illinois 176 will be closed between Interstate 94 (Tri-State Tollway) and Illinois 43 (Waukegan Road), from July 15 at 9 a.m. until July 24 at 7 a.m. in order to complete the work, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation press release.

A detour will be posted. Eastbound 176 traffic will be routed north on St. Mary’s Road, east on Illinois 137 and south Illinois 43 to reconnect with Illinois 176. Westbound traffic will take the opposite route.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
