Independence Grove Beer Garden Reopens For Summer Season

The beer garden will be open on weekends and holidays in May.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The beer garden at Independence Grove has opened for the summer.

The beer garden opened this past Saturday and be serving beer from 1 to 9 p.m. on weekends and holidays in May. Starting on June 1, and continuing through the end of August, the beer garden will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday and from 1 to 9 on weekends and holidays.

The beer garden's hours of operation will return to 1 to 9 p.m. on weekends and holidays in September and October.

The beer garden features brews from Lake County craft breweries, including Mickey Finn's Brewery in Libertyville, Tighthead Brewing Company in Mundelein, Half Day Brewing Company and more. The full list of beer on tap can be found on the Lake County Forest Preserve website.

The beer garden opened last summer and replaced the beach at the popular forest preserve. The beach house was repurposed to make way for space for beer taps, and there is also seating lake side for those stopping out.
