K9 Dax Finds Intoxicated Teen Passed Out Under Deck: Authorities
The 16-year-old Zion girl was treated and is recovering.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Lake County police dog came to the rescue of a 16-year-old Zion girl who was found intoxicated and unconscious under a deck a couple blocks from her home, authorities said.
K9 Dax was called to assist the Zion Police Department after local police searched for an hour for the girl who was reportedly highly intoxicated and had run away from home at about 2 p.m. on Monday, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office. K9 Dax quickly found the girl.
"It took K9 Dax just a couple minutes to find her," Christopher Covelli, deputy chief with the Lake County Sheriff's Office, told Patch.

K9 Dax, along with his handler Deputy John Forlenza, found the girl underneath a deck in a yard just a couple blocks from her home in Zion, Covelli said. She was unconscious and deputies were able to get her out from under the deck.
She was treated by rescue personnel and is now recovering, according to authorities.
