Lake Co. Deputies Issue 42 Tickets, Arrest 3 During Holiday Detail
The Lake County Sheriff's Office stepped up its enforcement efforts between Dec. 16 and Jan. 2 as part of a holiday enforcement effort.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's Office was out in full force over the holidays and the results are in from their most recent traffic detail.
From Dec. 16 to Jan. 2, the sheriff's office issued 42 citations and arrested three drivers as part of a statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" enforcement effort. Deputies handed out 19 tickets for speeding, 12 citations to unbuckled drivers and 12 tickets for other traffic violations.
They also arrested two drivers for driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license and one drive for fleeing and eluding. In total, officers clocked 32 hours of patrol time during the holiday enforcement.

The holiday enforcement campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transpiration with federal highway safety funds managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
