Lead Paint Concerns At Libertyville High: Repairs Approved
The main gymnasium at the high school has been closed as school officials plan to make fixes in the coming weeks.

LIBERTYVILILE, IL — For the second time this year, the main gymnasium at Libertyville High School has been closed due to concerns over lead paint. The Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 board held an emergency meeting on Wednesday night, voting to remove existing ducts in the gym, repaint an area where peeling paint was confirmed to have potentially hazardous lead and then replace the ducts, according to the Daily Herald.
The total cost of the project will be $175,000, school officials. The repairs are expected to becompleted in December and until then, athletic practices and physical education classes will be relocated, according to the article.
