LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville village board last week approved a final development plan for a $35 million Regional Operations and Communications facility, which will be located on a 172-acre county campus located north and west from Milwaukee Avenue and Winchester Road.

The Daily Herald reports the village board's approval was needed to move forward with construction, which is slated to start this summer, on what is expected to be a two-year project.

The single-story, 37,426-square-foot building will house a multi-agency emergency communications center, according to the Daily Herald. So far, agencies committed to the facility include the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Lake County, Fox Lake, Gurnee, Lake Zurich, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Waukegan and CenCom E911, which provides provides emergency dispatch services for Antioch, Hainesville, Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights and Round Lake Park.
