Libertyville Police Probe Stolen SUV, Vehicle Burglary Reports
Authorities are reminding residents to lock their cars and to not leave their keys in their car following the reports.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and to not leave their keys in their cars following several reports of cars being stolen or broken into in recent weeks.
The Libertyville Police Department responded to the following incidents on April 23:
- At about 8:10 am., police received a report of a grey Jeep that was stolen from a driveway in the 300 block of McKinley Avenue in Libertyville at some point overnight. The vehicle was later recovered in the 3000 block of Grandville Road in Waukegan.
- At about 8:45 a.m., police received a report of someone going into a black Honda parked in the driveway of a home in the 1000 block of Regency Lane in Libertyville at some point overnight. Nothing was taken.
- At about 10:10 a.m., police received a report of someone entering both a black BMW and silver Toyota in the 600 block of Burdick Street during the overnight hours. Nothing was taken.
Following the incidents, authorities reminded residents that they should be locking their vehicles, removing any valuables and removing any keys or key fobs from their vehicles. Residents should also be sure to lock the doors to their garages and residences — especially at night.
