Libertyville to Purchase Office Building for Temporary Police Headquarters

The village plans to demolish the current police station and build a new $43 million in its place.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville plans to purchase an office building to serve as temporary police headquarters while its existing station undergoes renovations.

The building will be leased by the village for $2.2 million. The move comes due to the police department's need for more space due to growing staffing and operational demands, according to the Daily Herald.

The current station will be demolished and a new station built in its place. The $43 million project is expected to be complete by 2027.
