Libertyville Ranked Among Best Places to Start a Business in Illinois

Libertyville was recently ranked among the top 20 best places to start a business in Illinois, according to NerdWallet rankings.

Libertyville was ranked No. 15 on the NerdWallet list. Oak Brook was ranked at No. 1 on the list while Itasca received a No. 2 ranking and Lincolnshire was ranked at No. 3 on the list.

The study found the average revenue for a business in Libertyville was $1.975 million. NerdWallet also found that 37.95 percent of Libertyville businesses had paid employees and an unemployment rate of 4.3 percent.

In determining its rankings, NerdWallet used Census data that gauged the following key factors:

• Business climate: average revenue of businesses, percentage of businesses with paid employees and businesses per 100 people
• Local economic health: median annual income, median monthly housing costs and unemployment rate
