A Libertyville resident recently won $75,000 in the Illinois lottery.
Tom Vernon played an Ultimate Crossword ticket and instantly won the $75,000 lottery prize, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery.
“I plan to invest this money wisely,” he said.

Vernon bought his winning ticket at Mobil, 1060 E. Park Ave., in Libertyville. The retailer received $750, one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
