Libertyville Schools Recognized for High Attendance Rates

The schools were recognized during the 27th annual Lake County Regional Office of Education Attendance Week competition.

Four Libertyville School District 70 schools were honored last week for being in the top 10 for the 27th annual Lake County Regional Office of Education Attendance Week competition. Two schools came in at second place in two categories.

Copeland Manor School ranked second in the "Small Elementary Schools" category. Meanwhile, Highland Middle School placed second in the "Large Elementary Schools" category, according to a District 70 news release.

Rockland School ranked fifth in a tie in the “Small Elementary Schools” category while Butterfield School ranked 7th in the “Medium Elementary Schools” category.

Staff members and students from each of the four schools attended a special breakfast award ceremony, with students going on stage to accept the awards.

Students who attended included: Highland Middle School students Samantha Chen, Vir Trivedi, and CJ Zaslavsky; Copeland Manor School students Emilie Bissing and Grace Huber; Rockland School students Mia Colton and Margo McGormley, and from Butterfield School students Jaimie Marquardt and Zoe Joseph,.

Copeland Manor reached an attendance percentage rate of 99.57, Highland Middle School reached a 97.80 percentage rate, Rockland came in with a 98.35 percentage attendance rate, and Butterfield School had an attendance rate of 97.84 percentage rate.

All Lake County elementary schools are eligible to be recognized by the Regional School Superintendent for attendance week, which ran from Sept. 12-16 this year.
