Eighteen Mainstreet merchants partner up with Passport Shopping Event and local store promotions in support of American Express Small Business Saturday Event.

Libertyville (November 11, 2014) - The Runner’s Edge will be 1 of 18 local merchants in Libertyville, IL, participating in Small Business Saturday (SBS). In 2010, American Express founded Small Business Saturday (SBS) to help businesses with their most pressing need — getting more customers. The day encourages people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The single day has grown into a powerful movement, and more people are taking part than ever before. This year, the big day is Saturday, November 29, 2014.

Entitled “Libertyville’s Small Business Saturday Holiday Shopping Tour”, this event will feature a shopping “passport” that will help leverage the strength of Libertyville’s Mainstreet business community by cross promoting various store events and shopping incentives. The passport is designed to create additional traffic by giving shoppers incentives to visit each store, make a purchase and have their passports stamped. Stamped passports may be entered into raffle drawings held at each store at the end of the day for a chance to win raffle prizes.

Each of the participating SBS stores will host an in-store event or promotion. The Runner’s Edge event will be “Get Your Fit On”, a multiple fitness thematic that includes Yoga & Kickboxing, sponsored by Blue Sky Studio; A Taste of Crossfit, sponsored by Crossfit155; and a 2-mile fun run, sponsored by Hoka One One and Topo cross fit and running shoes.
Participating stores include Bentley’s Corner Barkery, Lovin’ Oven, Amazing Cosmetics, Avenue 21 Dancewear, Salon Kallisto, Eclectic Design Source, Milwalky Trace, Pizzeria Deville, Lindsey’s Gifts, Artists at Heart, Rolland’s Jewelers, Petranek’s Pharmacy, CRSpa Salon, Savory Spice Shop of Libertyville, The Runner’s Edge, ENAZ on the Park, Recovered Treasures, and Serendipity Unique and Trendy Women’s Clothes.

The Runner’s Edge, which is celebrating its 21st as being one of Chicago’s premiere running specialty stores, is pleased to be partnering with Brooks Sports, Inc. once again in creating another unique “Run Happy” event that supports the Chicago Marathon and other local race events.
