Libertyville's Village Administrator Placed On Paid Leave

Christopher Clark was placed on leave last week. He has been Libertyville's village administrator since December 2016.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL – Village administrator tend to stick around once they land the post in Libertyville. The village has had only three village administrators in the past 51 years. And now, its third village administrator, Christopher Clark, is on paid administrative leave after nearly 1.5 years on the job, the Daily Herald reports.

It's unclear why Clark is on administrative leave and it's also not clear what the next steps will be, according to the article.

"We'll talk to Chris, the board will talk and we'll go from there," Mayor Weppler told the Daily Herald.

Chris, who is the former Cary village administrator and has 20 years of municipal experience, began as Libertyville's village administrator in December 2016. He earns $170,000 per year.

In his absence, Kelly Amidei, Libertyville's deputy village administrator. will be in charge of day-to-day operations, according to the Daily Herald.
