Local Legislator Seeks Ideas For New State Laws

State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is asking residents to submit their ideas by Jan. 24.

GURNEE, IL -- State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is encouraging area residents and organizations to submit their ideas for new legislation to be drafted and introduced during this year’s legislative session.

“My legislative agenda will be strongest when community members participate in the conversation,” said Mason. “I welcome input from businesses, residents and local organizations about what we can to do legislatively to improve state government and address the issues facing our community.”

Mason is asking that residents and local organizations submit their ideas for review to joyce@repJoyceMason.com by Thursday, Jan. 24. Individuals whose idea is introduced as legislation may have the opportunity to testify at a committee hearing later in the year, according to a news release.
