Man, 39, Fatally Shot In Zion

ZION, IL — Authorities are investigating the death of a 39-year-old man who was found fatally shot in Zion early Friday.

Authorities were called to a home in the 2900 block of Elizabeth Avenue in Zion at about 2:40 a.m. Friday for a report of shots fired, according to a news release from the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.

Police found the 39-year-old man inside the home with a gunshot wound, and he was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities believe the man was hit by shots fired outside the home, and the home "was likely the intended target of the shooting."
