Man, 49, Killed In Crash Near Libertyville
The Lake Villa man was driving a motorcycle on Route 21 when it collided with a SUV leaving the Independence Grove Dog Park.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 49-year-old Lake Villa man was killed in a crash on Route 21 near the independence Grove Dog Park in Libertyville Tuesday evening, authorities said.
The collision happened at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday when a BMW motorcycle headed south on Route 21 hit a Hyundai SUV, which was turning left onto Route 21 from the Independence Grove Dog Park, which is located at 31531 N. Milwaukee Avvenue, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
According to witness reports, the motorcyclist was driving at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic prior to the collision. The motorcycle driver, a 49-year-old Lake Villa man, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 68-year-old woman, was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
