Man Accused in Libertyville Murder Free on Bond

Kenneth S. Seplak has been ordered to wear an electronic home monitoring device while out in bond.

A 37-year-old Round Lake Beach man is free on bond after allegedly shooting and killing a 30-year-old Libertyville man just days before Christmas.

Kenneth S. Seplak has posted 10 percent of his $3 million bail on Thursday and has agreed to wear a GPS monitoring device, which will track his every move and would contact authorities if Seplak entered any “exclusive zones,” the Daily Herald reports.

Seplak has also been ordered not to have any contact with the victim’s family, not to have any guns or ammunition in his home and to remain on a 24-hour curfew, according to the article.

Seplak, of the 1400 block of North Lake Shore Drive in Round Lake Beach, is accused in the shooting death of David Gorski, 30, of Libertyville. Authorities found Gorski unresponsive in a Volkswagen Jetta at 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 after receiving a report of a slumped over driver in the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Hollister Drive in Libertyville.

Gorski was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. He suffered a gunshot wound.

Earlier that night, Gorski went to a movie with a Wauconda woman at AMC Hawthorn 12 in Vernon Hills -- the same woman who Seplak had been accused of stalking at her home, according to the Daily Herald. Prosecutors said GPS records from Seplak’s cell phone shows he was at the same theater at the same time as Gorski and the Wauconda woman prior to the murder.
