Man Dies After Punching Window At Bar In Lake County: Police
The 32-year-old Chicago man sustained a severe cut to his arm after punching the window at the Beach Park bar, authorities said.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 32-year-old Chicago man has died after he punched his fist through a window at a bar in Beach Park while being escorted out of the business by security, authorities said.
The man was being escorted out of the bar in the 37800 block of North Sheridan Road after getting into a verbal disagreement with another person. On his way out, he punched the window near the front door and sustained a severe cut to his arm and was bleeding significantly, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
He asked a friend to bring him to a hospital, and was drifting in and out of consciousness while on the way. At one point he regained consciousness and grabbed the wheel of his friend's car, causing the driver to strike a curb and a trash can, authorities said.

The car became disabled, and deputies were called to the 1800 block of North Sheridan Road in Waukegan at 2 a.m. Monday.
The man was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the news release.

Lake County Sheriff’s detectives are continuing to investigate but it appears the injury the man sustained appears was self-inflicted. An autopsy will be conducted Monday afternoon by the Lake County Coroner's Office.
