Man Faces Arson Charges In Libertyville Explosion, Fire

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 26-year-old Libertyville man faces arson charges following an explosion and blaze at a single-family home in Libertyville earlier in the month.
Adrian S. Jonas, of the 500 block East Golf Road in Libertyville, was taken into custody Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with the incident on Oct. 10 at 592 E. Golf Road. Authorities were initially called to the single-family home for an explosion and fire, according to a news release from the village of Libertyville.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. They searched the home and did not find anyone inside, according to the news release. Authorities identified Jonas as a person of interest and found him not far from the location of the fire.

Jonas was transported to an area hospital, authorities said. He was released from the hospital Thursday and arrested on a warrant. He's been charged with residential arson, violation of order of protection, arson and resisting a peace officer.
