LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville High School's marching band has been picked to perform during the halftime at the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida, on New Year's Day of 2020, the Daily Herald reports. The Marching Wildcats sent in an application, which included a video of a performance, to be selected. In addition to playing with other bands during the halftime show, the local students will perform in the Outback Bowl New Year's Eve Parade in Tampa and in a parade at Walt Disney World.

"One of our primary goals is to keep students performing beyond high school," band director Adam Gohr told the Daily Herald. “This shows them the type of experience they could have as part of a college marching band, whether they major in music or not."
