Marisa McClellan and Canning With Kids

Learn how to preserve fresh produce at home!

 

Canning For Kids and award-winning food blogger and cookbook author Marisa McClellan (foodinjars.com) team up to offer a parent-child canning class on August 11.

The class will run approximately 90 minutes and consist of an introduction to food preservation, followed by a hands-on session devoted to the art of refrigerator pickles, led by Marisa. Attendees will take their creations home to enjoy.

Appropriate for ages six and up, the cost of the ticket covers the attendance of one adult and one child, produce for pickling and canning materials, and a copy Marisa’s newest cookbook on canning in small batches, Preserving by the Pint. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Ferrer Foundation, a Chicago program focused on education and violence prevention for at-risk youth.

 Cost: $35 (this fee is for one adult and one child)
