Mickey Finn's Closed After Classic Car Crashes Into Kitchen
A car from Libertyville's Car Fun on 21 event crashed into Mickey Finn's on Wednesday night.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A classic car from Libertyville's Car Fun on 21 event crashed into the kitchen area at Mickey Finn's Wednesday night damaging the restaurant.
No one inside Mickey Finn's was injured in the collision, which happened at about 7:51 p.m. Wednesday near Milwaukee Avenue and Church Street. The driver, who was traveling at a "high rate of speed," also appeared to be OK, Brian J. Grano, owner of Mickey Finn's, wrote in a Facebook post.
"The car slammed into our exterior kitchen wall and took out the main gas line to the building .... hence the gas leak and the shutdown of Milwaukee Avenue for a few hours," according to Grano.

The gas leak lasted for about 20 minutes, Grano said. The gas has since been shut off, according to officials in Libertyville.
Meanwhile, Mickey Finn's will be closed until "further notice," Grano said. But outdoor events planned for the week and weekend will still be happening, including this weekend's Oktoberfest.

Grano is not sure when the restaurant and bar will be able to reopen.
"Unfortunately Finn's will be closed until further notice. We can't operate without gas. I have contractors out this morning to determine the time table for the fix. Hopefully sooner than later," Grano wrote on Thursday. "The Village has ok'd us to continue with the USO fundraiser tonight as well as our Oktoberfest celebration on Friday and Saturday - as these events are self contained in our back parking lot."
Thursday's Car Fun on 21 event was the last for the 2023 season.
