More Violent Crime Reported in Libertyville: FBI Report

The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which includes information about Libertyville.

According to the report, Libertyville saw 11 violent crimes in 2014. Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI. In 2013, there were seven reports of violent crimes in the village.

Of the violent crimes in 2014, there was one rape, one burglary and nine aggravated assaults. Other crime stats for Libertyville include 265 property crimes, 21 burglaries and 239 reports of larceny/theft.

Nationally, violent crime decreased last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
