3 Injured In 6-Vehicle Crash

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Three people were injured in a six-vehicle crash in Libertyville Thursday morning. The collision happened at 7:43 a.m. on Route 45 south of Route 137 and required one person to be extricated, police said.

Three people were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center following the collision, according to a news release from the Libertyville Police Department. They are currently in stable condition.

Authorities closed down Route 45 between Peterson and Casey roads following the collision, reopening it during the mid-afternoon hours.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation with the Lake County Major Crash Team.
