LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Village officials this past week approved a $20 million plan to bring affordable housing to seniors and empty-nesters, with construction expected to start soon on the long-vacant building at 500 Peterson Road.

The Libertyville Village Board voted in favor of a final plan by Community Partners for Affordable Housing, which will bring the complex, Eve. B. Lee Place, to town, according to the Daily Herald. Construction will start this summer, and it should take about 15 months to transform the vacant building into an apartment complex

The first floor of the complex will be occupied by Community Partners for Affordable Housing's new headquarters, which will allow for on-site property management services, and there will be 34 rental apartments on the second and third floors, the Daily Herald is reporting. The apartments are meant for people 55 years old and older and will be priced at $1,050 to $1,250 per month including utilities.
