On the People We Meet: Reflections on Relationships & "Otherness."

How relating to others who are different from us can help us learn and to decide on future directions.

January 10, 2016 at 9:00 AM

Speaker: Joanne Almaney, member of the congregation.

About the Service: The Service will explore a lifetime of relating to otherness. From early experiences in an elementary school populated predominantly by children with special needs, through the high school years as a gentle minority, and adulthood encounters with persons with racial, ethnic, religious, and gender orientations different than my own. These associations with so many “others” were learning experiences that formed my own personal belief system, and the resulting life lessons are what drew me to Unitarian Universalism.
