Armed Robber Holds Up Car Spa in Libertyville: Police

The man forced his way into the business, implied he had a weapon and then got away with $850 in cash.

Libertyville police are looking for a man accused of holding up the Car Spa in Libertyville. 

Police said the man forced his way into the Car Spa, which is a car wash and gas station at 540 Peterson Road in Libertyville, at around 7 a.m. on Saturday as employees were unlocking the doors to start the business day. The man implied he had a weapon and then took around $850 in cash before fleeing the scene on foot, according to a Libertyville Police Department press release.

Libertyville Police assisted by Mundelein Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect, according to the news release.

The offender is described as a black male with a bald or shaved head. He is between 5-feet 6-inches and 5-feet 8-inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket with “POLO written on it and at one point during the robbery, he pulled the black hood over his head, police said.
