SPRING GROVE, IL — Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating a driver accused of using his pickup truck to ram a police squad car and then leading authorities on a chase across Lake County over the weekend.
Officers with the Sugar Grove Police Department first attempted to stop the 2005 Ford F350 pickup truck at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday on State Park Road in Spring Grove, according to a news release. The driver then lead police on a chase that crossed over the border into Wisconsin and ended in Waukegan where the driver crashed their vehicle, Spring Grove Police Department Detective Eric Decker told Patch in an email response Tuesday. Spring Grove is more than 25 miles from Waukegan.
