Power of One: 2015 FMSC benefit to be held April 18

Registration is open for "Power of One," the 2015 Chicago-area gala to benefit Feed My Starving Children (FMSC).

Registration is open for “Power of One,” the 2015 gala to benefit Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a fast-growing Christian hunger charity with Chicago-area facilities in Aurora, Schaumburg and Libertyville. The fundraising event will be held on Saturday, April 18 from 6-9 pm at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont.

Since its inception in 1987, 4.2 million FMSC volunteers have packed more than one billion meals that have been distributed to malnourished children in 70 countries.

Tickets are $100, or $1,000 for a table of 10. To register, go online to fmsc.org/15ILGala.

The 2015 FMSC Gala features live storytelling from Zinhle Nzima, a young woman from Swaziland whose life was forever changed by FMSC meals; inspirational stories from FMSC volunteers; live painter Jared Van Voorst, a live auction with Kristine Fladeboe, Fladeboe Auctions, a raffle and a photo booth. Jim Effner, FMSC Chicago Council board member, will emcee.

Guests also will be able to shop for exclusive hand-made items at the International MarketPlace, with all proceeds going toward the event goal.
