The incident was reported Monday evening at a home on East Golf Road in Libertyville.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A probe is underway into an explosion and fire at a home on East Golf Road in Libertyville Monday evening.

The Libertyville Police and Fire departments, as well as additional police and fire departments from the area, responded to the home at 592 E. Golf Road at about 6:40 p.m. Monday. No one was injured in the incident, and no one was home at the time, according to a news release from the village of Libertyville.

Matt Goze, deputy chief of police for the Libertyville Police Department, told Patch it's not currently known what caused the explosion and fire. Much of the home needed to be town down while the fire was being extinguished and currently is uninhabitable, he said Wednesday.
