World-class violin and piano duo give concert at the David Adler Music and Arts Center

The David Adler Music & Arts Center Concert Series Presents:

Internationally Acclaimed Musicians Give Classical and Romantic Adler Center Concert

World-class chamber musicians and Northeastern University professors Jaime Gorgojo and Kay Kim have played the Paris Opera, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and with Yo-Yo Ma. On Saturday, December 19th at 7pm, they will play closer to home, at the David Adler Music and Arts Center.

Gorgojo and Kim’s Romantic and Classical concert will feature well-known works by Mozart, as well as pieces by popular 20th-century composer Prokofiev, and 18th-century violinist Henryk Wieniawski.

“Jaime Gorgojo is expressive and has great technical mastery of his instrument. He’s a phenomenal violinist,” says Heather Williamson, Program Director, “The Adler Center enjoys bringing talented musicians from Chicago, and from even further away, to our community.”

Gorgojo has recently performed with musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and in recitals at the Banff Center for the Arts and the Grand Teton Music Festival. In 2016, he will tour with Virgin Islands with Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues.

Pianist Kay Kim has performed with the New York Philharmonic and Metropolitan Orchestras, with Paris Opera, and with the Chicago Chamber Musicians. She has also played Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Ravinia Festival.

This concert was rescheduled due to inclement weather.  All tickets purchased for the original, November date will be honored on December 19th. 

The David Adler Music and Arts Center presents outstanding classical and contemporary concerts each month as part of its ongoing Concert Series. Tickets may be purchased online, via www.adlercenter.org, or by calling 847-367-0707. Seating is limited and early booking is recommended. Student tickets are $10, Adler Members, $15; and general admission is $20.

Located in the historic home of architect David Adler, the David Adler Music and Arts Center is dedicated to making music and the arts an integral part of everyday life. Its year-round activities are designed to foster engagement and achievement in the arts for the people of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. The David Adler Music and Arts Center is located at 1700 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville.
