Six Flags Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Extended Hours, Drone Shows

New stage performances, specialty food, and anniversary merchandise highlight a summer of nostalgia and thrills at Six Flags Great America.

Six Flags Great America is marking a milestone 50 years in 2026 with a celebration packed with new attractions and extended hours.

The anniversary festivities run June 20 through August 9 — and the park will be open until 10 p.m. every night during the celebration.

All-New Nighttime Spectacular

Each evening features an all-new stage show and parade with themed floats joining fan favorites, culminating in a drone show with special effects — a first for the park. The drone display is available Fridays through Sundays.

Specialty Food and Merchandise

Guests can taste a part of the park’s history with anniversary-themed foods and beverages, and shop exclusive 50th anniversary merchandise at the Legacy Store inside the Emporium. Collectibles, apparel and souvenirs will be able to commemorate the park’s five decades.

Legacy Museum and Anniversary

The Legacy Museum showcases artifacts and memorabilia from the park’s history. Visitors can also purchase personalized anniversary bricks to be displayed along the Great America Legacy Path, which is meant to create a lasting tribute to families and memories over the past 50 years.
