Slumped Over Driver Arrested For DUI At Busy Intersection: Police
The woman appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel when officer responded to Milwaukee Avenue and Peterson Road early Sunday, police said.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL – A 51-year-old Libertyville woman faces a DUI charge after authorities found her slumped over in the driver's seat of her running vehicle at a busy intersection over the weekend, police said. Police responded to the intersection of Peterson Road and Milwaukee Avenue at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday where they found the woman who appeared to be sleeping.
Officers were able to wake the driver, Cynthia M. Sanderson, according to the police department report. Before her car was towed, authorities allegedly found open alcohol inside the center console of her vehicle
Sanderson, of 1150 Guerin Road in Libertyville, was arrested after officers conducted field sobriety tests and noticed a strong "odor of alcohol coming from her breath," according to the police report.

Sanderson is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol. She posted her driver's license and signed a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court on March 16 at 9 a.m.
