Snowstorm Delays Garbage Collection In Lake County
The heavy snowfall will delay trash pickup by one day, according to Waste Management Officials.

Waste Management of Illinois will suspend operations on Friday for Lake County residents due to the winter storm. Residential collection scheduled for Friday will instead be picked up on Saturday. Waste Management also provides garbage pickup for residents in Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, McHenry, LaSalle and Will counties.
“Due to the forecasted snowfall, our residential service will be delayed one-day to Saturday for those customers with Friday service. We are taking these steps to ensure the safety of our drivers as well as the communities we serve,” said Lisa Disbrow, spokesperson for WasteManagement of Illinois.
Waste Management asks that residents leave trash and recycle containers at their curbside for collection on Saturday, according to a news release Residents should clear snow to allow collection crews to access their containers.
