St. Joseph Church to present Liszt's Via Crucis | March 6
Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) is a sacred Christian devotion.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL
The St. Joseph Concert Season continues to make a name for itself after its highly successful annual Christmas Sing. Rarely performed, Franz Liszt’s Via Crucis is an offering you cannot miss. Led by Ron Vanasdlen, Director of Music at St. Joseph, local vocalists will assist in the evening’s music which features Terese Parisoli, accomplished violinist, and David Govertsen, baritone from the Chicago Lyric Opera. Starting at 7:30pm on March 6, all are invited to witness this choral masterpiece in the church located between Milwaukee and Maple in Libertyville. All seating is free and open to the public.
Regarding his work with the church’s music ministers, Vanasdlen observes, “It’s a joy and a privilege to work with a group of musicians who are not only singularly talented, but passionate and committed as well. Their skill and dedication has earned them a place of great respect in our music community.”

On March 2, Vanasdlen will also present his second Lenten organ recital in the church at 12:15pm.
Two additional organ recitals will be offered after Easter: Wednesday, April 13 at 12:15pm and Sunday, May 1 at 7:30pm. The Sunday recital will feature Mark Olen, one of Chicago’s highly sought-after professional trumpeters.

The concert season will conclude with a Spring Sing on Sunday, June 5 at 7:30pm.
