St. Joseph Church presents its third annual Christmas concert Dec. 20

A new St. Joseph tradition, the Christmas Sing begins at 7:30 pm.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Celebrate this joyful time of the year with traditional and contemporary Christmas hymns and carols. Under the direction of Ron Vanasdlen, the St. Joseph Church Jubilee Choir and Orchestra join together to sing selections from Handel’s Messiah as well as sacred favorites of the season. The evening’s spiritual apotheosis arrives near the end of the evening with “Silent Night,” when the church becomes aglow with the light of candles distributed to audience members.

The audience is invited to sing along with the classic carols. Worship aids will be provided to all in attendance.

The Christmas Sing is the fifth concert for the season at St. Joseph Church. The annual St. Cecilia Sing took place on November 22 in addition to three Advent organ recitals during December.
The annual choral presentation, Carols for the City, begins thirty minutes before each Christmas Eve Mass and fifteen minutes before each Christmas Day Mass.
