LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Thanksgiving is almost here and since many stores and government services will be closed, it's important to plan accordingly. Thanksgiving is Nov. 23, and the infamous Black Friday is Nov. 24.
It's always best to call the business before going to be certain that they are open before you get in your car to make the trip. Here's what's open and closed for the Thanksgiving holiday this year.
Post Offices: Post offices are closed on Thanksgiving, but will resume operations on Friday.

Lake County Circuit Court: Closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Algonquin Area Public Libraries: Close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, closed on Thanksgiving.
Garbage Collection: There will be no garbage collection in Algonquin or LITH on Thanksgiving.
Banks: Most major banks are closed on Thanksgiving Day, and most will open on Friday. Call ahead to be sure.
Restaurants: Still hungry? These Libertyville restaurants are open on Thanksgiving, according to Yelp.
