In addition to the two fires that were reported Thursday, police are now investigating two attempted arsons inside of unsecured garages in the 200 block of Homewood Dr. and 300 block of Laurel Ave. that resulted in minor damages, according to a press release. "We believe all the incidents are related and are in the process of analyzing the evidence that was collected," the release stated.

The village is warning residents of scammers dressed up as ComEd workers, according to the village's website. ComEd reports scammers used a variety of tactics to lure customers into handing over money and/or letting them inside their home.

Libertyville High School choir is one of the few high school's that has been invited to perform on a Sunday at St. Peter's Basilica.

Beau Schaefer, a Libertyville High School science teacher who has taught creationism in his biology class for at least four years, will keep his job despite the fact that according to the U.S. Supreme Court, this violates students’ first amendment rights. The decision comes after conversations between LHS administrators and Schaefer, and a vote by the school board. (Watch the video here.)
