Money Continues to Pour in For Single Mom Who Lost ‘Everything’ in Townhouse Fire
"They have the clothes they were wearing as they escaped the flames that consumed their home and nothing else."

GRAYSLAKE, IL — Money continues to pour in for a single mother and her daughter who lost “everything” in a townhouse fire in Hainesville this past week.
Yelena Mironova, a nurse, and her daughter, Jayden, 6, were able to safely escape and were not injured in the blaze that broke out on Sept. 12 in the townhouse, according to the Lake County New Sun. Jayden was in bed in her upstairs room when the fire began and Mironova had to go in to pull her daughter out, said Francisco Barroso, Mironova’s neighbor.
The townhouse, an end unit in a five-residence building, was left uninhabitable, the Lake County News Sun reports.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Mironova and Jayden who “lost everything to the fire.” As of Oct. 9, over $15,000 had been raised.
“They have the clothes they were wearing as they escaped the flames that consumed their home and nothing else. They are going to be needing everything from shoes to food and everything in between,” said Francisco Barroso, Mironova’s neighbor, in the GoFundMe post.

Barroso said the single mother works as a traveling nurse, helping those who are mentally ill and the elderly. Her car, which she needs to make a living, was damaged, and she is still waiting to hear from her insurance company whether the cost to replace her vehicle will be covered.
"Her car is her bread and butter," Barroso said.
Francisco has set a fundraising goal of $25,000, which they have calculated is the minimum amount Mironova will need to refurnish her home.
Her neighbors have been a huge support as she tries to get her life back together. In fact, her neighbors living in the unit right next door to her, who have also been temporarily displaced following the blaze, donated $500 to the GoFundMe campaign, Barroso said.
"We just love her and her daughter," Barrosa said. "Any help we can get in gathering money for her is much-appreciated."
Mironova’s daughter is a student at Prairieview School in Hainesville, and Community Consolidated School District officials are encouraging those who can help to donate to the family.
The blaze at the Hainseville townhouse remains under investigation but does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
