Vernon Hills Youth Hitting Coach Arrested In Sexual Abuse Case

Eduardo "Eddie" Acosta-Gonzalez surrendered to police Monday after being charged with multiple counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

VERNON HILLS, IL — A youth hitting coach accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old athlete has been arrested, Vernon Hills police announced Monday.

Eduardo “Eddie” Acosta-Gonzalez surrendered himself at the Vernon Hills Police Department Monday afternoon with the assistance of his attorney, according to police.

Acosta-Gonzalez was taken into custody and is expected to make his initial court appearance on Tuesday, police said.

Acosta-Gonzalez faces multiple counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from allegations involving the 12-year-old girl, who was a client of his. Investigators said they continue to seek information about any additional criminal activity involving Acosta-Gonzalez.
