New at the David Adler Music & Arts Center this Winter

The David Adler Music & Arts Center is now enrolling children and adults for art and music classes. The six-week winter session begins January 12th and runs through February 20th. Group art and music classes at the Adler Center allow artists and musicians of all ages and abilities to explore their creativity and learn new skills. Winter Session Adult Art Classes

Art and Wine Workshops: Bring a friend, and your favorite bottle with you as you sip, snack, and paint a guided still-life of your very own. Art and Wine workshops at the Adler Center are a great way to enliven a chilly winter. No experience necessary.

Drawing and Painting: Students will develop drawing and painting skills from observation and by using their imaginations. You will create works of art while using a variety of drawing and painting techniques such as blending, shading, mixing of colors, and perspective. This class is designed for the beginner and the continuing artist.

Oil and Chalk Pastels: This class will teach you the basics of chalk and oil pastels. You will learn different techniques for both mediums such as blending, shading, highlighting, and mixing of colors. Students will be taught from observation and by using their imaginations. This class is designed for the beginner and the continuing artist.

Vintage Window Painting Class: Have you ever wondered how to create a beautiful hand painted vintage window? Then this is the class for you! Local window artist Tanya Facchini will instruct you step by step on how to achieve that special one of a kind piece of art that is perfect for your home’s decor. Just show up to the first day of class with some ideas and we can show you how to make them come alive! Vintage window and most paints are included in the price of this class. Extra paint colors of your choice can be purchased at local arts and craft shops.

Winter Session Youth and Toddler Classes

Adler Choir: Love to sing? Adler choir is suitable for singers of various skill levels, aged 9+. Learn vocal techniques for solo and group singing, build confidence, and enjoy singing with your friends. Song selections are tailored to the group’s age and experience.

Art and Story Time Adventures: This is a wonderful class for preschoolers – K. We will read a children’s story with colorful illustrations and observe how the artist created their story by showing their works of art throughout the book. We will create our very own drawing/painting that mimics the artist’s style.

Mixed Media Madness: Students will explore a variety of mixed mediums while creating their works of art. Acrylic paints, pastels, watercolors, and magazine cut-outs will be a few of the materials used in this class. Bring in your creative thoughts and we will turn them into colorful masterpieces.

Shake, Rattle & Roll: This toddler music class is silly, playful, and fun. Children and their caregivers sing, dance, build and play rhythm instruments, and participate in instrument petting zoos. Learn loads of new songs, explore the world of music, and develop a lifelong love for playing music together. Four weeks, beginning February 3rd.

Whimsical Watercolors: Watercolor paints and watercolor pencils offer an exciting new dimension to the art of sketching and designing. Watercolor pencils are a beautiful mixture of drawing and painting in one. This class will teach them sketching and color washing techniques, while creating wonderful works of art. This class is designed for beginners and continuing artists.
