Woman Arrested After Brass Knuckles Found In Car: Police

A North Chicago woman faces a weapon charge following a traffic stop early Sunday, police said.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 20-year-old North Chicago woman faces a weapons charges after police found brass knuckles during a traffic stop early Sunday, authorities said.

Lauri Arizmendi, of the 1900 block of Wright Avenue, has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon following the incident, according to a Libertyville Police Department report. She was a passenger in a car that was stopped for speeding in the 400 block of South Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville at about 12:20 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle, Curwin Lloyd, 19, was arrested for driving while his license was suspended, police said. During the traffic stop, police say the found Arizmendi in possession of the brass knuckles.

Both Lloyd, of the 2400 block of West Dugdale Road in Waukegan, and Arizmendi were transported to the Libertyville Police Department.

Both were released from custody after signing a personal recognizance bond and are next expected in court on Sept. 8.
