Woman Hit, Killed By Vehicle While Crossing Butterfield Road: Police
The collision happened Tuesday night in Mundelein.
MUNDELEIN, IL — A woman crossing Butterfield Road Tuesday night was hit and killed by a vehicle, authorities said.
An investigation into the collision shows the 37-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were crossing Butterfield Road near Canterbury Lane when they were both hit by a vehicle, which was southbound on Butterfield, according to a news release from the Mundelein Police Department.
Both the man and woman were taken to Condell Medical Center where the woman later died, according to authorities. The man, who sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening, remains hospitalized.

The vehicle's driver, a 67-year-old man, was not injured. Police say there is no indication the man was impaired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs but authorities are awaiting toxicology test results.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
